Survey Data
Survey Data provides federal and university mandated surveys reported based on a periodic schedule. University surveys report information of university-wide impact, data that meets university goals and data that is statistically viable. Please review the Planning and Assessment Survey Criteria prior to submitting a Data Request.
National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)
The NSSE survey provides data about student engagement at UHCL compared with other peer group institutions. The NSSE survey is conducted once each year in the spring semester. Data collected from the NSSE survey is also used in the annual UHCL Progress Card. Contact Planning and Assessment at assessment@uhcl.edu for additional information
Note: In previous years, only UHCL senior students were asked to participate by the NSSE survey. For NSSE 2016 and subsequent years, both UHCL first-year and senior students were asked to participate in the NSSE survey.
Graduating Students Survey
Each fall and spring semester, students who have applied for graduation are invited to take the Graduating Student Survey to express their opinions about their higher education experience with UHCL. This survey, in conjunction with the Alumni Career Survey and the Alumni Relations Survey, is used to gather employment status, salary range, and program review information. Program review information is required for university accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Data collected with this survey are also used in the annual UHCL Progress Card.

Alumni Career Services Survey
The Alumni Career Services Survey targets alumni nine months after graduating from UHCL. The Alumni Career survey is sent out twice each year as requested by the Office of Career Services. This survey, in conjunction with the Alumni Relations Survey and the Graduating Student Survey, is used to gather employment status, salary range, and program review information. Program review information is required for university accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Alumni are given the opportunity to provide their contact information to the Office of Career Services for follow-up if they should need assistance. Alumni Relations Survey
The Alumni Relations Survey targets alumni three years after graduating from UHCL. The Alumni Relations Survey is sent out once per year as requested by Office of Alumni Relations. This survey, in conjunction with the Alumni Career Survey and the Graduating Student Survey, is used to gather employment status, salary range, and program review information. Program review information is required for university accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). In addition, alumni are asked about events or items they would like to see instituted by the Office of Alumni Relations. Academic Support Services Assessment (ASSA) Survey
The ASSA Survey is sent to all UHCL students during the fall semester of odd years. The ASSA survey enables current students to express their opinions of the support services received from UHCL.
