Program Options

Partner Providers provide the widest variety of opportunities. Partner Providers have pre-established programs on a multitude of topics in a variety of locations throughout the world. Programs can include traditional semester, yearlong, summer education abroad, and week-long programs. More specialized programs include internships, virtually and in person and service learning programs. Our brochure library, located in the Office Education Abroad and Scholar Services has a wide variety of brochures and program offerings from these partner -providers. You can also view our array of program at ea.uhcl.edu. To connect with a provider who can fulfill your unique education abroad interests, please attend an Education Abroad 101 Information Session or e-mail us at educationabroad@uhcl.edu.

Faculty-Led Programs

Take advantage of the education abroad programs offered directly through UHCL. These faculty-led programs are directed by UHCL faculty and listed within the UHCL course catalog. Programs generally occur during school breaks or the summer, with most ranging from a week to a month in duration. The destinations and topics offered each year depend upon the faculty member leading the program.

Partner Providers

Some external education abroad providers offer the widest variety of opportunities. They have pre-established courses on a multitude of topics in locations throughout the world. Programs can include traditional semester or summer education abroad, or be more specialized to include internships or service learning. The resource library in the Office of Education Abroad and Scholar Services (Bayou Building 2123) has a wide variety of brochures and program offerings from partner providers. Global Exchanges

Explore a new culture and experience a new way of life. Become an exchange student! UHCL students can spend a semester or a year immersed in another culture as they live and study at one of our partner institutions. This is also an excellent opportunity to diversify the UHCL campus as we welcome students from our exchange partners for a semester or full academic year.

The Global Exchange Program enables select UHCL students to study at a variety of institutions while earning UHCL credit and being immersed in the culture of some of the world's most exciting cities.

Students who are approved to enroll in the UHCL exchange pay UHCL tuition which allows you to maintain your financial aid package, including grants and scholarships (unique partner fees may be required). You may also apply for additional financial aid (in the form of loans) for study abroad.

Visit ea.uhcl.edu to explore exchange opportunities or contact educationabroad@uhcl.edu.

UHCL's approach to education abroad allows you to choose the program that works best for you, and can help to seamlessly connect your program to your academic pursuits here on campus.  Take a moment to explore the program options and how to choose one that meets your needs and expectations. Then, follow the application guidelines of the program you select, and get started on your way to an incredible adventure!
