Your Orientation Process Begins With Us

Congratulations on your acceptance to University of Houston-Clear Lake as a first-year freshman! You will be joining a vibrant and diverse community of students from across Texas and around the world. Your next steps are to complete your mandatory orientation process to ease your transition to UHCL.

To assist with your successful transition into UHCL, your mandatory orientation process consists of 2 steps. These steps help you from acceptance to your successful graduation.

It is important to note that you will not register for your classes during orientation. If you still need to register for your courses, please use the Navigate App to schedule an advising appointment.

Step 1: Pre-Orientation Appointment

November 23, 2020 - January 8 , 2021
Virtually, Via ZOOM

During this individual virtual appointment, you have the opportunity to directly connect with an Orientation Leader who will individually address any concerns you may have. Your Orientation Leader will also virtually lead you through campus and overview other campus resources based on your interests and needs.

Step 2: First-Year Orientation - SOAR

January 13-15, 2021
Virtually, Via ZOOM

During this virtual orientation program, Wednesday, Jan. 13 - Friday, Jan. 15, you will learn about all aspects of campus life, virtually connect with your peers and prepare for the fall semester. A one-time, non-refundable orientation fee of $60 is due at the time of attendance.

Please email our office at or call us at 281-283-2420 for questions to assistance registering.
