Welcome from the Chief

Thank you for visiting the UHCL Police Department web site. A quick note about our department – we are a full service police department operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week to best serve the UHCL community. We are fully accredited by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). This means our policies, training, and operations are guided by best campus law enforcement practices from around the globe.

Our mission is to provide exceptional law enforcement service and effectively respond to critical and emergency situations, while proactively safeguarding the lives and liberties of the University of Houston-Clear Lake community.

Our Core Values are Leadership – Integrity – Professionalism – Service. I speak regularly about providing great customer service – doing so brings us into alignment with our mission and values. No one wants cold french fries in the drive through; providing hot fries is the goal.

Our service to the community requires relationships with those we serve. Better relationships create better cooperation in the production of safety and, ultimately, a better perception of safety. All of our police department members have committed to serve the campus and fulfill our mission by being highly trained and always acting in good faith. In return we invite our fellow campus community to work with us through proactive efforts designed to address issues before they become serious safety threats.

As we move forward together, I am dedicated to new and fresh relationships with students, not just student leaders. I ask your assistance in this challenging goal. Always feel free to contact me directly, invite us to your events, and participate in ours.
