Move-In Information

Hello Hawks!

Our team is excited for you to join us on campus! Below you will find information regarding what to expect when moving into Hunter Hall. Family and friends are welcome at Move-In, too!

If you have not already done so, please login and complete the Housing process in the UHCL Housing Application System.

In addition, if you do not already have an updated Hawk Card, you are required to upload your photo at www.uhcl.edu/hawkcard before moving into Hunter Hall. Once you receive an email that it is ready, you will then need to visit the Welcome Center on the first floor of SSCB to pick up your Hawk Card. Our staff will then grant you swipe access to Hunter Hall (exterior doors and suite room door).

As always, if you have any questions, please contact Student Housing and Residential Life via email at housing@uhcl.edu or phone at 281-283-2615.

Hunter Hall Fall 2024 Move-In Information

Entering Campus

We advise entering into campus via Entrance #3 at Bayou Road East, from Middlebrook Drive. This entrance will bring you the closest to Hunter Hall. Then, turn right into Lot D3 and pull right up next to Hunter Hall.

Friend and Family Expectations

We welcome family members/friends/guests to accompany students into Hunter Hall to assist during the move-in process. We try to keep groups to no more than 5 - 7 persons.

As a courtesy to others, we ask that all parties provide ample space for other students and families checking into Hunter Hall. As move-in gets busy at times, we thank all students and families for their patience and positive energy throughout the process.

Move-In Process and Schedule

For Fall 2024, Move-In occurs daily between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., based on the following schedule:

  • New Residents may move in as early as Friday, August 16, 2024.
  • Returning Residents may move in as early as Saturday, August 17, 2024.

All students will check in at the front desk (inside the hall). Students will receive their swipe access, Room Condition Report, and mailbox key.

At check-in, there will be friendly students and staff ready to greet and assist you with the process, hand out campus resources, and answer any questions you may have. You will be permitted to use moving bins (as available, should you require one). As there may be a delay at times, feel free to bring your own moving equipment.

We will make sure your Resident Advisor (RA) stops by your room on your check-in day, to meet and greet you. This upper-class student leader is here to assist you during your stay in Hunter Hall.

Early Arrival

Students requesting to move into Hunter Hall prior to their scheduled date should email housing@uhcl.edu. In the email, state your Name, ID#, Room#, and desired move-in date and time. Students approved to move in early will be subject to a daily early arrival fee of $25.00.

Accommodations

If you and/or a member of your family requires an accommodation during Move-In, please reach out to Student Housing and Residential Life at housing@uhcl.edu at least two weeks prior to August 16, 2024. We are here to make the move-in process as easy and stress-free as possible.

Furnishings

Each room in Hunter Hall comes with a twin-size bed (XL), a desk and chair, a closet area with a small bar for hanging clothes, a set of drawers, retractable blinds, and an Ethernet port (with access to Wi-Fi). All beds are loftable - please ask staff for assistance. Each room is connected to a shared restroom/shower area.
