
Conroe Academy of Science and Technology High School Wins First Place in 4th Annual Texas Envirothon
The Texas State Envirothon was held on April 18 and 19, 2004, at Bear Creek Park, in Houston. The overall results use composite scores and the overall winners were Conroe Academy of Science and Technology. Second place went to John Cooper High School Team A while John Cooper High School Team B won third place. Conroe Academy of Science and Technology will represent Texas in the International Canon Envirothon, which will be in West Virginia, July 26–August 1, 2004.
Awards are given to the top scoring teams on the field/written exam, by topic, and for the top team in the oral presentations. The winners were Chapel Hill High School B in Aquatics; John Cooper High School Team A in Forestry; Soils was taken by Conroe Academy of Science and Technology; Wildlife went to Conroe Academy of Science and Technology and John Cooper High School Team B; Conroe Academy of Science and Technology in Current Issue; and Oral Presentation was won by John Cooper High School Team B.
