3-Step Orientation Scholarships
Fund Your Future — Earn up to $1,000 as You Complete Your Next Steps
At the University of Houston-Clear Lake, we're invested in you. Newly admitted Hawks — like you — can earn up to $1,000 toward your education by completing orientation and advising steps on time. Complete each step, earn the scholarship, and start your semester with momentum.
Who's eligible? Newly admitted first-year and transfer undergraduate students starting in summer or fall 2026 who enroll in at least a half-time course load (minimum of 6 credit hours per semester) and maintain that enrollment through the official University Census Day.
How it Works (3 steps, 3 separate award amounts, up to $1,000)

Step 1: Orientation Launchpad Scholarship — Earn $250 (no scholarship application needed)
Complete by Saturday, April 25
- Finish the mandatory pre-orientation modules in the Orientation Launchpad.
- Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our financial aid team is ready to guide you through the process or if you have any questions.
Step 2: Admitted Student Day Scholarship — Earn $500 (no scholarship application needed)
Complete by Saturday, May 2
- Everything in Step 1 (if you haven't already).
- Register for and attend Admitted Student Day on Saturday, April 25.
- Clear any registration holds in your account.
- Meet with an academic advisor and enroll in at least half-time for summer 2026 or fall 2026.
Step 3: New Student Orientation Scholarship — Earn $250 (no scholarship application needed)
Complete before June Orientation
- Everything in Step 1 (if you haven’t already).
- Submission of your financial aid application (FAFSA).
- Meeting with an advisor and have enrolled in at least half time for summer 2026 or fall 2026.
- Choose and attend a June Orientation: Tuesday, June 9 or Friday, June 26.
Important: Enrollment Requirement
To receive any 3-Step Orientation Scholarship award(s), you must be enrolled in at least half-time for the summer 2026 or fall 2026 semesters.
Good to Know
- You must be an admitted student to start these steps.
- No separate scholarship application necessary.
- You can earn one award per step, up to $1,000.
- Awards will be credited to your student account following confirmation of enrollment and completion of all essential steps, including orientation.

What to Do Next
- Access Go.UHCL.edu. First-time users will need to set up a two-factor authentication via the Duo mobile app before logging in. If you have difficulty logging in, need to look up your username, reset your password, or need help with two-factor identification via the Duo app, visit the Office of Information Technology webpage or contact support by calling 281-283-2828 or emailing support@uhcl.edu.
- Submit your FAFSA.
- Register for Admitted Student Day (April 25).
- Meet your academic advisor.
- Register for a June New Student Orientation (June 9 or 26).
Steps to Accept Each Scholarship
- Log into E-Services.
- Click Financial Aid, then View Financial Aid.
- Select Aid Year 2027 (click Change if it’s incorrect).
- Click on Edit and use the arrows to select Accept or Decline.
- When you’re done, click “Submit.”
