Cullen Leadership Scholarship
Who is the scholarship for?
- New degree-seeking undergraduate, transfer students.
Eligibility Requirements
- Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 must be very first semesters at UHCL.
- Must have received Associates Degree from a Houston/Galveston area community college within 12 months of transferring to UHCL.
- Must be enrolled full time (12 credit hours) per Fall and Spring semesters.
- Must have transfer GPA of 3.5 or higher (as recalculated by UHCL).
Required documents
Students must upload along with scholarship application:
- 2 letters of recommendation and;
- Detailed autobiographical statement of past achievements, leadership accomplishments, intended major at UHCL and career goals. Maximum length 2 pages with 12 pt. font.
The award amount is $2000 for the 2023-2024 academic year ($1000 for Fall 2023 and $1000 for Spring 2024).
Renewable for 2 Additional Semesters
If renewed, the student will be awarded $1000 for Fall 2024 and $1000 for Spring 2025.
Renewal Criteria
Continue to enroll in and successful complete at least 12 credit hours each Fall and Spring semester. Students must also maintain good academic standing and have a renewal GPA 3.0 or higher.
How to Apply
- Please log into E-Services and click on "Financial Aid"
- Next click on "Apply for UHCL Scholarships". Do not fill in any information at this point
- Click "Search"
- The Cullen Leadership Scholarship should pop up
- Do NOT click on "Apply" **
- Click on "Details" to view the criteria
- Make sure you meet the criteria of the scholarship before applying **
- Next go back and click "Apply". The aid year you are applying for is "2024"
- Answer any questions
- Submit
Once you click on "Apply" and submit the scholarship application you cannot go back to that specific scholarship.
A confirmation will appear when the application is submitted.
