Graduate Students
Welcome New Graduate Students
Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Houston-Clear Lake! The Orientation and New Student Programs (ONSP) Office is excited to welcome you to campus! You will be joining a vibrant and diverse community of students from across Texas and around the world. ONSP hosts various orientation and welcome programs to ease your transition and welcome you to UHCL.
Orientation provided by ONSP is not a university requirement for a majority of incoming graduate students. Orientation is only required for new international graduate students. If you are an international student, visit New International Student Orientation.
All other incoming graduate students are welcome to attend an optional Transfer Student Orientation (TSO) program.
During TSO, you will receive a snapshot of UHCL resources, an overview of services, and an understanding of academic policies. You will also connect with faculty members, fellow students, and UHCL administrators. Specific presentations include:
- College Finances 101
- Meet Your College
- Title IX & Mental Health
- Campus Tour
- Hawk Talk Breakout Sessions
You must be an admitted incoming graduate student to register for TSO. Depending on which academic semester you are admitted for, we offer a specific TSO session. You will be notified to your UHCL student email when the orientation registration is open for your admitted semester.
