Mission and Goals

Mission Statement

We are a caring team who helps students to thrive in living-learning environments that promote academic success, life skill development, and student engagement.  

Vision Statement

Student Housing and Residential Life strives to provide students with a "home away from home" experience where they are able to Live, Learn, and Engage.  

Goals

SHRL will develop and promote a comprehensive residential culture that supports undergraduate and graduate student growth and success.

SHRL will offer work and volunteer opportunities designed to hone leadership skills and provide students with developmental experiences.

SHRL will facilitate and coordinate high-impact programs that focus on various aspects of student development and well-being.

SHRL will produce student staff training that is data-driven with research and evidence-based content consistent with regional and national best practices. 

SHRL will expand guest housing offerings through summer camp, local intern, and summer guest recruitment efforts.

Learning and Program Outcomes

Students will illustrate student leadership skills and growth through living on campus and participation in living-learning community efforts.

Students will recall 6 - 8 key duties and responsibilities associated with their student leadership position.

Students will connect to the campus community by engaging in various hall and campus programming efforts.

Students will describe academic and campus resources (i.e. Campus Recreation and Wellness, Career Services, etc.) in and outside of the residence hall.

Students will evaluate Student Housing and Residential Life services and indicate a strong satisfaction rate.
