Where to Park
Anyone who brings a vehicle to the University of Houston-Clear Lake campus should be aware of where to park before arriving.
Students, faculty, staff and visitors can find information about where they should park on this webpage. Anyone who has questions about where to park can email parking@uhcl.edu or call 281-283-2277.
Parking Permit Holders
Students: Park in the sections not designated for employees only in Parking lots D, G or J with a current permit or valid temporary permit properly displayed.
Employees: Parking lots A and B, and portions of D, G, and J Lot have been designated as faculty/staff only. Faculty/staff may also park in all student lots. All employees must appropriately display their parking permits when parked on campus.
Designated accessible parking spaces in surface lots are for the exclusive use of vehicles displaying county-issued International Symbol of Access (ISA)-disabled hangtags or ISA-disabled license plates. Individuals who park in accessible spaces must have an active University of Houston-Clear Lake parking permit and display their county-issued ISA-disabled hangtag (or ISA-disabled license plate affixed in the designated location on the vehicle). The ISA county-issued disabled hangtag must be hanging on the rearview mirror.
Visitors / Those Without a Parking Permit
Anyone who comes to campus without a valid University of Houston parking permit must pay to park in any of the visitor parking locations on campus.
There are two types of visitor parking on campus: temporary visitor permits may be purchased via the T2 Mobile Pay or at parking kiosks throughout campus. The locations of these kiosks are indicated via signage along campus roads. The Parking Portal and parking kiosks only accept debit and credit cards.
Visitor Accessible Parking
University of Houston-Clear Lake is committed to ensuring accessible parking for all visitors. Designated accessible parking spaces are available across campus for visitors displaying valid International Symbol of Access (ISA) disabled placards or license plates. Visitors who park in accessible spaces in visitor spaces must have an active University of Houston-Clear Lake visitor pass AND display their county-issued ISA-disabled hangtag (or ISA-disabled license plate affixed in the designated location on the vehicle). The ISA county-issued disabled hangtag must be hanging on the rearview mirror.
Contractor Parking
The contractor parking permits are issued by the Parking and Transportation Department. Please have the department associated with the contractor contact the Parking and Transportation Department via email at parking@uhcl.edu or call our office at 281-283-2277. We do not accept photocopies of parking permits.
New Student Orientations
Students and their families who come to campus to attend orientation will be sent specific parking instructions before their orientation.
Residential Move-In
Lot D3 is designated for residential parking.
Students moving in or out of Hunter Hall may park in Lot D3 to load or unload personal belongings, then proceed to move their items into the residence hall.
Parking is free during move-in. Note that students and families are not permitted to park in faculty/staff spaces on campus. .
Bayou Theater Event Parking
Bayou Theater hosts many shows, concerts and performances every year. Visitors coming to campus to attend one of these shows can find detailed parking information on the Bayou Theater's Plan Your Visit web page.
Parking is not permitted in employee lots or in reserved spaces. All employee parking lots are enforced 24/7. At all other times, visitors will need to park in Visitor's Lot R. Follow event parking signage on campus for directors to Student Lot D1.
