Saturday, December 8, 2012—The Environmental Institute of Houston's E-shock crew and boat won third prize in the sponsored power boat 27 ft and under category at the 51st Clear Lake Boat Lane Parade.

Three of EIH's research vessels, the Twin Vee, Boston Whaler and E-shock, joined approximately 80 boats, as they paraded through Clear Lake and out into Galveston Bay. Spectators gathered along the shoreline of Clear Lake and the Kemah Boardwalk to watch the festival of boats decorated in traditional Christmas decor and unique themes.

On Sunday morning, EIH staff and graduate students joined other parade participants as they gathered at South Shore Harbor for breakfast and an awards ceremony. Accepting the award for EIH were UHCL graduate student Emma Clarkson and EIH staff member Colby Lawrence.

Participation in this event was made possible with support from Libby Jones, Prudential Gary Greene. Donations of lights and decorations and time by EIH employees and UHCL students allowed us to outfit all three boats.
