Taking the next step in your education is a meaningful investment in yourself. To help support your academic and professional aspirations, UHCL is offering a $1,000 scholarship to eligible graduate students enrolled in at least half-time status for Spring 2027.
Fall 2026 Deadline
Final Deadline for Application:
January 1, 2027
How to Apply
- Log into E-Services and click on "Financial Aid" or "Admissions"
- Next click on "Apply for UHCL Scholarships." Do not fill in any information at this point
- Click "Search"
- The Higher-Up Scholarship should pop up
- Do NOT click on "Apply"
- Click on "Details" to view the criteria
- Make sure you meet the criteria of the scholarship and prepare the required document before applying
- Next, go back and click "Apply" — The aid year you are applying for is "2027"
- Answer the questions and then submit
Once you click on "Apply" and submit the scholarship application, you cannot go back and edit or revise that scholarship application.
A confirmation will appear when the application is submitted.

Eligibility Requirements
- $1,000 scholarship ($1000 Spring 2027 only)
- First-time, newly admitted and enrolled in at least 5 hours (half-time status) in a degree-seeking graduate program (Preferred STEM Degrees/Not Required)
- Spring 2027 is your first semester as a UHCL graduate student (Domestic or International)
- No minimum GPA requirement; however, the scholarship is competitive and based on merit
- Complete and submit a scholarship application through E-Services
