Peer Mentoring
Student Success Center Peer Mentoring offers a supportive one-on-one relationship between incoming students and the experienced college student. UHCL peer mentors aim to provide guidance, support, and encouragement helping mentees transition and navigate successfully throughout the college campus environment.

Key Programs
- Whimsical Wednesday - Mentorship experience is designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in various DIY projects while benefiting from the guidance and support of mentors. This program encourages creativity, collaboration, and personal growth.
- Motivational Monday - Kickstart your day, stay active and have fun in a supportive environment! 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Campus Recreational & Wellness building.
- Peer Mentoring Week - Week long activities focused around mentoring
- Mobile Mentoring Program - The Mobile Mentoring Program is designed to provide flexible and accessible mentoring opportunities for individuals seeking guidance in their personal and academic development. This program connects mentees with mentors through various platforms, ensuring that support is just a walk away.
- Pop-In for a Peer Mentor- This program combines peer support with the love of popcorn! Students can enjoy a snack while discussing academic, career paths, or building relationships. Our peer mentors are hereto help while enjoying some tasty snacks!
- Coffee and Conversation with a Peer Mentor- Designed to foster meaningful discussions and connections. This program provides a unique opportunity to engage with peer mentors over a cup of coffee, allowing discussions about academic, career, and personal development.
- Movies and Mentors- This is an event that combines movies and mentorship. This program offers participants the chance to watch movies and engage in thoughtful discussions with peer mentors, exploring themes related to growth, development, and life lessons.
All students can benefit from our Peer Mentoring program and one-of-a-kind events that allow for networking and building relationships on campus. Peer Mentoring is diverse, engaging and provides opportunities for growth and development of skills necessary for overall college experience.
