Student Health Insurance Plan
Fall 2020 Insurance Change Notice
The University of Houston System has made the decision that a change in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) is necessary beginning the 2020-2021 Academic Year. Academic Blue, underwritten by BlueCross/BlueShield of Texas will be the Student Health Insurance Plan for all UH System components. BlueCross/BlueShield Academic Blue presented a plan that offers an annual premium cost that is less than the annual renewal rate requested by the current SHIP provider.
Academic HealthPlans will continue as the insurance administrator.
Benefits, claims, ID Cards, and voluntary enrollment information is available at uhcl.myahpcare.com.
The voluntary enrollment period for the Spring 2021 term is 12/14/2020–02/15/2021 and for Summer 2021 is 05/07/2021-07/05/2021
