Accreditation

In 2012 the UHCL PD became accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and was the first police department in the UH System to receive accreditation. In 2015, the UHCL PD was re-accredited through CALEA. In 2017, the UHCL PD decided that IACLEA Accreditation would better serve the needs of the police department and the department began the process of switching accrediting agencies. We achieved re-accreditation in Summer of 2022.

This honor is held by less than 4% of law enforcement agencies across the United States, and only 1.3% of campus police departments have reached this echelon.
