I was born in 1974 in Pearisburg, VA. I received my bachelor of arts in sculpture
with a minor in art history from College of Charleston in 1997 and received my M.F.A.
in sculpture from the University of Houston in May of 2002.
I have taught sculpture at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, at
the University of Houston, and the past nine years I have been teaching here at the
University of Houston-Clear Lake. For four and a half years, I was an adjunct professor,
then I became a visiting lecturer for two years and I have been a continuing lecturer
ever since. A private gallery in Houston represents my artwork.
I am an active artist with in the Houston art community. I have shown in exhibitions
locally, nationally, as well as internationally. I have been on numerous art organization
boards including president of the Buffalo Art Park and working on the programming
board of the Lawndale Art Center. Recently, I have become a member of Texas Association
of Schools of Art.
