Biography

Dr. Hae Rim (Helen) Jin is an Assistant Professor of Criminology in the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences at University of Houston-Clear Lake. Dr. Jin received her doctorate in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University. She has a Master of Arts degree in forensic psychology from John Jay University and Bachelor of Science degree in both criminal justice and criminology and psychology from Arizona State University.

Her research focuses on violence against women, intimate partner violence, bystander intervention, victimization experiences among sexual minorities, and law and psychology. Her research has been published in Women and Criminal Justice and Journal of School Violence. In addition, Dr. Jin has assisted and worked with local, state, and federal criminal justice-related agencies. Finally, her teaching interests include Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Criminal Law, Law and Society, Victimology, and Gender and Crime.
