Lydia Thurman

Lydia Thurman was a graduate research assistant at the Environmental Institute of Houston (EIH) while pursuing her M.S. in Environmental Science at University of Houston–Clear Lake, which she earned in May 2026.

While at EIH, Lydia worked on the Microplastic Distribution and Impacts to Diamond-backed Terrapin, Highlighting Public Education and Future Effects of Sea-Level Rise project funded by the Matagorda Bay Mitigation Trust. She was also involved with the Clean Rivers Program.
