Tiernan Pytlak

Tiernan Pytlak completed a Master of Science in Environmental Science with a Specialization in Biology, along with an Environmental Management Certificate, in fall 2025 from University of Houston–Clear Lake. While pursuing her master’s degree, she served as a graduate research assistant with the Environmental Institute of Houston (EIH), contributing to projects such as the Texas Clean Rivers Program, Critical Life History Parameters of the Texas Diamond-backed Terrapin, and Establishing a Network of Eel Ramps to Monitor Recruitment of Glass and Elver American Eel. Her master’s project focused on Amazon River water quality analysis and land use changes.
Tiernan earned her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston and plans to pursue a career in conservation, with a focus on aquatic ecosystems. In her free time, Tiernan enjoys caring for her many plants, listening to music, taking long walks with her dog, Atari, and, when the opportunity arises, deep-sea fishing.
