Literacy Program
Empowerment Through Literacy
The Literacy, Language Arts, and Literature Studies (LLLS) program prepares preservice teachers to design engaging, research-based literacy and language arts instruction for K–12 students. Through coursework and field experiences, candidates learn to teach reading, writing, and language arts using a wide range of high-quality texts and evidence-based practices that support all learners’ academic growth. At the graduate level, the program also offers advanced study leading to a Reading Specialist degree for educators seeking specialized expertise in literacy instruction and leadership.
