Dr. Michelle Peters
COE UHCLTeach Co-Director
Dr. Michelle Peters serves as the COE co-director for the UHCLTeach program. She completed her doctoral degree at The George Washington University, a master's degree at The Missouri University of Science and Technology, and a mathematics 7-12 certification at Drury University. Dr. Peters has over 20 years of experience working in the field of education.
Dr. Stephen Gruber
CSE UHCLTeach Co-Director
Dr. Stephen Gruber serves as the CSE co-director for the UHCLTeach program. He completed his doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction, and his master's in biology at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Dr. Gruber has over 15 years of experience teaching biological sciences in both secondary and post-secondary settings.
Ms. Lorie Batrez
UHCLTeach Master Teacher
Lorie Batrez serves as the mathematics master teacher for the UHCLTeach program. Lorie has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Texas Southern University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. Lorie has 16 years of experience in K-12 education as a secondary mathematics teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum writer.
Mr. Miguel Venegas
UHCLTeach Senior Academic Advisor
Miguel Venegas is a Senior Academic Advisor at The University of Houston Clear Lake. He previously worked as a Victim Advocate with the Office of Advocacy and Violence Prevention at UTRGV. He received his B.A. in Communications from Texas A&M University - Kingsville and his M.A.I.S. in Mexican American Studies from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Master's in Higher Education Administration from UTRGV. When he is not studying at a local Starbucks, he is playing video games online with friends and fraternity brothers.
Ms. Erin Forester
COE UHCLTeach Graduate Program Specialist
Erin Forester is the graduate program specialist for the UHCLTeach program and the STEM4ALL grant at University of Houston-Clear Lake. Erin has a Master of Science in Psychology from UHCL and completed post-graduate studies in human factors. She has been working in higher education for over five years as a consultant in the UHCL Writing Center and now as a program specialist in the College of Education.
