Pearland ISD

Field Experience is provided for UHCL students according to the current MOU Agreement.

  • Field Experience requests must be made at least 3 weeks in advance of the start date on campus.
  • Field Experience requests will be scheduled based on the Google document shared between Pearland ISD and CPDT.
  • Pearland ISD will contact principals for placement. Faculty and/or Adjunct Professors should not contact principals.
  • If a Faculty and/or Adjunct Professor would like for Pearland ISD HR to select a campus, be sure to denote "TBD by HR" on your request form submitted to CPDT.
  • CPDT will share final placements with the CPDT Office.
  • Enter a date range of weeks when making your request (e.g., week of 2/2/-2/16), or specific dates (2/4, 2/11, 2/18) for students to be on campus.

Instructors:

  1. Complete the Field Experience Request Form (PDF) including a list of student names, content area/grade level, dates (weeks of or date range), cooperating teachers requested, and campuses requested. If you want HR to select the campus and cooperating teachers, type "TBD by District". Please include the title of the course. Note: Cooperating teachers and students will decide on specific times that meet both of their schedules.
  2. Submit the form to the CPDT office who will send to Pearland ISD.
  3. Pearland ISD will notify CPDT of application eligibility status, and CPDT will notify professors, who will notify students.
  4. Once approved, Mrs. Rigdon will email professors/instructors, campus principal, cooperating teachers and administrative assistants, a list of students expected on campus, including dates.

Students:

  1. Complete the Classroom Observers/Field Experience 2025-2026 online application.  Indicate the position preference of Student Observer. Your state background check will be processed.
  2. Because your UHCL instructor is sending Pearland ISD a list of students seeking field experience for their course, you do not need to send a program letter or complete an observation request form online.
  3. Communicate with your instructor for updates about your status to begin on campus and for placement details. Please do not contact the Human Resource office. Mrs. Rigdon will send all updates directly to the CPDT Office.

Note: Students will forward district approval letters/emails to the course instructor.
