Fort Bend ISD

Instructors:

  1.  Field Experience Requests and course rosters are to be submitted to CPDT.
  2.  Fort Bend ISD will open up the application process around the third week of January.
  3. Students are to submit a university or program letter, prepared by the instructor stating the need to do observations.
  4.  Fort Bend ISD Human Resources will email students once the background check and application clears with campus and student observes of the placement.
  5. The campus and the student observers arrange a time for observation. *If Covid indicators rise, student observers are provided specific times/dates for observations on given campuses.

Note: The information provided below are for general student observers; a general student observer observes classrooms. Other options are available. Student observers (usually requesting a significant number of hours) who observe the same classroom for a few times and then present a lesson or they work with a teacher in learning the “behind the scenes” of being a teacher, have to complete an affidavit.

Note: Students will forward district approval letters/emails if available to the course instructor.

Students:

  1. Go to the Fort Bend ISD Student Observations webpage. Read and follow all instructions to complete the online application and background check request.
  2. Once the application is processed and background check clears, Fort Bend ISD Human Resources will notify campus and student of placement.
  3. Once you receive your placement, contact the campus contact person to set up your observation hours.
  4. Guidelines:
    • Observers do NOT contact campuses, principals or teachers to set up something outside the above guidelines.
    • If you have a family member or work on the campus, you are requested to go to another campus to insure fidelity.

See the FBISD Student Observations Guidelines.

Note: Students will forward district approval letters/emails if available to the course instructor.
