Dr. Michael joined University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2004 after several years as an assistant professor at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He earned his MBA at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and taught there before earning his doctorate. His professional experience includes several years as an analyst in the commercial mortgage industry in Charlotte and as manager of a computer firm. He currently teaches graduate Financial Policy and undergraduate Contemporary Financial Institutions (banking). He researches corporate governance, compensation, financial institutions, and fixed-income securities, and he has a casebook published by Pearson-Prentice Hall.
