Advanced Math Placement Test (AMPT)
The Advanced Math Placement test is designed for the students who believe they are prepared to begin taking college math at a level higher than college algebra. Successful completion of the test results in placement in advanced math courses, depending on major.

ATI TEAS®
ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a diagnostic test that students take as they go through the admissions process. The TEAS show a reliable picture of student preparedness for nursing school and provides valuable insights into their academic strengths and weaknesses. Log in to www.atitesting.com using your ATI username and password and select the online store. Then choose “Register for the TEAS with PSI” (a testing center) and select UHCL Testing Center.
Cost: $50 (payable directly to ATI) & $38.50 admin fee (payable to UHCL)
Length of the exam: 209 minutes

Certiport
Certiport offers certification and licensure tests for organizations, corporations, educational institutions, government agencies, and trade and professional associations. Examples are application software and digital literacy credentials for Microsoft, Adobe and Autodesk, IC3, ESB, Intuit Quickbooks, and Apple, Cisco, such as Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), etc. For more information regarding exam registration, a full list of exams offered, FAQ and other resources, please visit https://certiport.pearsonvue.com/.
College-Level Entrance Program (CLEP)
CLEP is a national program of credit by examination that allows students the opportunity to demonstrate college-level knowledge for specific undergraduate courses. It is designed to assess knowledge gained through accelerated, advanced or honors high school classes, as well as independent study. Cost: $97 (payable directly to CLEP) & $23.50 admin fee (payable to UHCL)

DSST (formerly known as DANTES Subject Standardized Test)
Through a series of 38 exams in several subject areas, the nationally recognized DSST program allows students to earn college credits for learning acquired outside the traditional classroom (UHCL does not offer credit for DSST exams).
DSST is an approved VA National Testing Program under the Post 9/11 GI Bill®. The VA will reimburse the DSST exam fee ($80-$90) and the testing center administrative fee (amount varies per location).

Availability of Test Scores: Examinee will have the option to see his/her preliminary score at the end of the
test. Within 3-4 weeks, official scores are sent by DSST to the institution indicated
by the examinee by the institution's 4-digit DSST code at the time beginning of the
exam.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
The Graduate Record Examination, or GRE, is an important step in the graduate school or business school application process. The GRE is a multiple-choice, computer-based, standardized exam that is often required for admission to graduate programs and graduate business programs (MBA) globally. MeazureLearning offers certifications and licensure for organizations, corporations, educational institutions, government agencies, and trade and professional associations. Metro Institute
Metro Institute provides certification, pre-employment selection, entrance examinations , training assessments and professional licensure exams for state agencies. Cost, test duration, availability and scoring are managed through MetroInstitute and differ from one exam to another. Applicants can go to Metrosignup.com to schedule exams. PearsonVue
Pearson Vue certifications are professional credentials offered by various organizations in fields like IT, business, and healthcare, which are administered through Pearson VUE's secure testing centers. These exams validate an individual's knowledge and skills for career advancement, and Pearson VUE provides a platform to schedule, take, and manage them. Certifications can be IT, Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, and AWS to validate skills in areas such as cloud computing, networking, and software development, credentials for professionals such as nurses (NMC) and behavior analysts (BACB), exams for professionals in financial services and other business roles, state certification such as the TExES teacher certification, and many more. UHCL Testing Center offers over 2500 different PearsonVue exams. Cost, test duration, availability and scoring are managed through PearsonVue and differ from one exam to another.
Proctoring Services for Non-UHCL students
For students attending other institutions, proctoring of college course and certain licensure exams is available. Prior arrangements are required; no walk-ins. It is the students responsibility to inform their home institution they have designated University of Houston Clear Lake Testing Center as their proctor and request that all materials/information (proctor instructions, links, passwords, etc.) for the test be sent prior to the appointment.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
TOEFL, or the Test of English as a Foreign Language, is a standardized test that measures the academic English skills of non-native English speakers. It assesses proficiency in reading, listening, speaking, and writing, and is commonly required for admission to universities in English-speaking countries, such as the USA, Canada, Australia, and the UK. The most popular version, the TOEFL iBT (internet-based test), takes about two hours and scores range from 0 to 120.

Texas Success Initiative (TSI)
The TSI Assessment is a helpful resource for incoming students to have a successful start in college by determining the appropriate course placement. It is a not an admissions test, but a placement test designed to assess math, reading, and writing skill levels.
Cost: $38.50 for initial test; $15.50 per section for retest
Length of the exam: varies (untimed exam)
