Office of Title IX and Equal Opportunity Services

The Title IX Coordinator and Equal Opportunity Officer serves as the University's Title IX Coordinator and coordinates efforts to comply with and implement the University of Houston System Sexual Misconduct Policy. We conduct administrative investigations of reports of sexual misconduct and are available to discuss options, provide support, explain policies and procedures, and provide education on Title IX.

Counseling and Mental Health Center

The mission of the Counseling and Mental Health Center is to guide and to support the members of the university community in the achievement of their educational, vocational, and psychological goals. Counseling Services offers free and confidential individual, couples, and group therapy for a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, eating concerns, relationship issues, grief, sexuality, identity development, self-esteem, motivation, procrastination, career indecision, and general personal growth. Counseling Services also offers career and personal workshops, biofeedback and other self-help resources, and psychiatry services.

Dean of Students

The Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) provides a variety of programs and services designed to support students in achieving both academic and personal success. The ODOS is committed to fostering human dignity through acts of civility and respect; providing student-centered services and developing ethical leaders who work to create an inclusive community. The ODOS seeks to create student learning opportunities beyond the classroom that inspire intellectual, personal and civic growth for all students. The office staff serves as both advocates and liaisons for all students and are available to assist faculty, staff and parents in any way possible.

The University Police Department is responsible for law enforcement, security and emergency response at UHCL. The UHCL police serve the university community and visitors alike through law enforcement, crime prevention, traffic control and public assistance programs. Community Resources

*TXFNE Forensic Center of Excellence, Ben Taub Hospital, and Memorial Hermann Medical Center offer sexual assault forensic exams (SAFEs), and the cost of the exam is covered by the Texas Crime Victims' Compensation Program. TXFNE offers forensic exams at locations around the Houston area as well 13 surrounding counties with 6 clinic locations and over 55 hospital partners.
