Trung Hoang, Ph.D.
Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry,
College of Science and Engineering
Dr. Hoang is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the School of Science & Computer Engineering at the University of Houston Clear Lake where he has been a faculty member since 2011. He completed his Ph.D. at University of Oklahoma in 2010.
His research interests lie in the area of energy and fuels, ranging from theory to design to implementation, with a focus on reaction engineering and catalysis. In recent years he has focused on better understanding the relationship between the catalytic performance and the microscopic structure and composition of the material, in addition to the links between the synthesis process and the final catalyst for biofuels refining. In prior work, he focused on designing reactor and optimizing energy efficiency for hydrogen production in natural gas utilization and fuel cell applications.
