Biography
Rishita Bansal joined the University of Houston–Clear Lake in Fall 2025 as a Lecturer
in Computer Science. She holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University
of Texas at Dallas, where she is also a Doctor of Philosophy candidate completing
her dissertation.
During the 2024–2025 academic year, she served as President of the Intelligent Transportation
Systems student chapter at the University of Texas at Dallas. She currently serves
as Faculty Advisor for the Google Developer Group at UHCL. She believes that student
organizations play a vital role in the learning experience and encourages students
to actively engage in them.
Guided by Benjamin Franklin's philosophy, "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn," she emphasizes active learning in her courses. Her teaching approach integrates
hands-on coding, live demonstrations, group discussions, and creative activities such
as robotics and LEGO® Serious Play to help students engage deeply with computational
concepts.
