About HHPI
Vision
The UHCL Health and Human Performance Institute (HHPI) is a community-based center for research, education, and high-performance training. Our mission is to improve health, recovery, and functional performance across the lifespan through the application of evidence-based exercise, nutrition, and rehabilitation interventions, while advancing experimental assessments and the development of emerging technologies. HHPI provides participants with exercise and exercise based rehabilitation services guided by the newest scientific discoveries, empowering individuals to prevent disease, overcome disability, and take ownership of their long-term health.
A central focus of HHPI is the prevention and treatment of conditions that limit human potential, including neurologic disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and the challenges associated with aging. Our programs address both the restoration of lost function and the enhancement of existing capabilities, applying strategies that span from clinical rehabilitation to elite performance training. By integrating state-of-the-art tools and protocols, we create pathways for patients, athletes, older adults, and tactical professionals to maintain resilience and achieve higher levels of physical and cognitive performance.
HHPI is committed to transforming the delivery of preventive healthcare and redefining human performance. Through the use of advanced measurement systems, strength training methodologies, neuromuscular conditioning, and metabolic optimization, we generate solutions that apply across diverse populations. As a hub of innovation, HHPI drives discovery and application in human performance, rehabilitation, tactical strength, neurorehabilitation, and exercise- and activity-related technologies, with the ultimate goal of expanding human capacity in health, recovery, and performance.
