Ashley Killgore is an undergraduate research assistant with the Environmental Institute of Houston’s research team. She is a student at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL), majoring in environmental science with a specialization in biology. After graduation, she plans to focus on research involving sensitive wildlife species, building on her internship in stormwater quality at Terracon.

While at EIH, Ashley is working on the Tracking Perkinsus marinus (Dermo) Infection in Sun Cured Oysters: Informing Oyster Shell Recycling Programs in Galveston Bay, Establishment of an Oyster Sentinel Program for Tracking Perkinsus marinus (Dermo) in Oysters of Galveston Bay, and Microplastic Distribution and Impacts to Diamond-backed Terrapin, Highlighting Public Education and Future Effects of Sea-Level Rise projects as an undergraduate researcher. In her free time, Ashley loves painting, yoga, makeup artistry, reading books, and hiking in nature.
