Madeline Sunshine
Madeline Sunshine is a research technician with the Environmental Institute of Houston’s research team. She earned two Bachelor of Science degrees in Marine Biology and Marine Fisheries from Texas A&M University at Galveston. During her studies, she focused on phytoplankton dynamics in Galveston Bay, including harmful algal bloom monitoring and marine snow mesocosm experiments.
At EIH, Madeline works on the National Aquatic Resource Surveys for Texas, coordinated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She has previously contributed to the National Coastal Condition Assessment and will serve as a crew lead for the National Wetlands Condition Assessment during the summer of 2026. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, reading, crocheting sweaters, and spending time with friends and family.
