Allison Norris graduated with a master's degree in environmental science from University of Houston-Clear Lake in May 2017. Norris' thesis project was "A Mesocosm Study of the Impact of Invasive Armored Catfish (Pterygoplichthys sp.) on Endangered Texas Wild Rice (Zizania texana) in the San Marcos River." Her project specifically involved examining the influence of suckermouth armored catfish on Texas wild rice growth and biomass. While pursuing her degree at UHCL, Norris worked as a research assistant at EIH.
