Biography

Even after more than 20 years as an educator, Dr. Queinnise Miller continues to have a passion for teaching, learning, and leading. As a teacher, motivational speaker, trainer, author, and educational leader, she is driven by a belief that all children deserve a world class education regardless of cultural or economic background.

Her proudest work has been that of a school principal; she believes her job is to support and serve the people who make the magic happen, the people who really make the difference, teachers. Her background is in English as a second language, bilingual education, and foreign language instruction.

Dr. Miller served as a school administrator, senior manager for leadership development, and a director in the Office of School Leadership in Houston ISD, the seventh largest in the nation serving over 215,000 scholars. She has trained and supported thousands of leaders at all levels with understanding the meaning of instructional leadership and its impact on developing exceptional teachers.

Dr. Miller has been published and highlighted in The Chronicle of Higher Learning and National Forum of Applied Educational Research Journal and presented research at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Conference. In her book, she shares her story as a teacher in an urban school and offers advice, suggestions, and insights for aspiring, new, and veteran teachers.

Dr. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Houston, a master’s in educational administration, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A&M University. She is also a mother of two beautiful children.
