Biography

Appointed in June 2026, Dr. Stephanie Biagetti serves as Dean of the College of Education at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, bringing over two decades in higher education leadership to the role. Prior to joining UHCL, Dr. Biagetti was Associate Dean for Undergraduate and Graduate Studies at California State University, Sacramento, where leadership responsibilities included academic policy, budgeting, program review, curriculum development, personnel management, and comprehensive student support services. 
 
As dean, Dr. Biagetti leads initiatives that advance UHCL’s mission of lifelong learning and student success while strengthening the College of Education’s reputation for innovation and impact. Her professional work emphasizes collaborative leadership, data-informed decision-making, and student-centered strategies that align institutional priorities with measurable outcomes. Dr. Biagetti has led initiatives that increased enrollment, engagement, retention, and graduation rates, including programs designed to strengthen graduate preparation, research engagement, and alignment of learning outcomes with accreditation expectations.
 
Dr. Biagetti holds a Ph.D. in Urban Schooling (Assessment, Curriculum, and Teaching Studies), a Master of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies with a minor emphasis in Mathematics, all from the University of California, Los Angeles. Previous professional experience includes appointments at the University of California, Davis; California State University, Fullerton; UCLA; the University of California Office of the President; and secondary education roles in California. A nationally active scholar, Dr. Biagetti has served as principal or co-principal investigator on numerous research projects and initiatives and is the author or co-author of more than 25 peer-reviewed journal articles.
