Mission Moon Base: Design, Build, and Explore at the New Worlds Await You!
Join our exciting, hands-on New Worlds Await You summer camp and become a space architect for a week! Imagine your team getting selected
by NASA to plan a groundbreaking habitat for astronauts on the Moon—using real lunar
lava tubes as part of your design. Experience the thrill of building a 3D model of
your lunar habitat where your goal is to keep your crew of 10 astronauts healthy,
happy, and motivated for important exploration and science missions!
Throughout this week-long camp, you will team with other campers to discover the mysteries of the Moon and Lunar Lava Tubes—just like NASA's Artemis explorers. Dive into creative brainstorming, research, and design challenges for food, water, energy, advanced technologies, and all the critical systems needed to sustain life on the Moon. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure filled with teamwork, creativity, and hands-on fun!

Additional Requirements: A student-written essay must be included with this application. The essay should not exceed 250 words. In your essay tell the selection committee why you are interested in attending the 2026 Soaring Hawks Code Academy at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Include in your essay what you hope to gain from this experience, how you think it will help you in the future, and why you think you should be selected to attend this camp. There will be a space in the application to type the essay directly or copy and paste from another location.

Explore STEM: Students With Disabilities Ages 14-22
The Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation Division (TWC-VRD) is supporting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) camps designed to provide students with disabilities (ages 14-22) the opportunity to learn about STEM occupations through instruction, hands-on activities, and interaction with individuals who work in STEM fields.
- Free for students registered with TWC-VRD. Contact your TWC Counselor for a referral to attend the camp. Once we receive the
referral, we will register the student for the camp. Learn more about how to register with TWC-VRD.
- $180 for individuals not interested in registering with TWC-VRD. Self-pay through the UHCL e-Commerce.
