Homecoming Week: October 6–11, 2025
Come celebrate everything we love about UHCL at one of our most spirited campus traditions, Homecoming Week. This event is open to all students, faculty, staff, alumni, their family and friends, and the community. Join us in creating an atmosphere that encourages all Hawks—past and present—to fly back home to UHCL.

Monday, October 6
Launch the week with banner voting, spirit squad performance, and cupcakes for Hunter's 12th birthday.
Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tuesday, October 7
A playful UHCL tradition—cheer on a flotilla of rubber ducks as they make their way to the finish line. It’s a lighthearted midday break with plenty of campus spirit and friendly bragging rights on the line.
Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

- National Night Out

Tuesday, October 7
Part of the nationwide National Night Out initiative, this evening focuses on community-building and safety awareness. Connect with the UHCL community, learn about campus safety resources, and celebrate the partnerships that keep Hawks thriving.

- I Heart UHCL Day

Wednesday, October 8
I Heart UHCL Day features the announcement of Spirit Competition winners, a Y2K costume contest (individual, group, office/department), make-and-take activities, stations, and giveaways.

Thursday, October 9
A campus-wide scavenger hunt with interactive clues, prizes, and exclusive Homecoming perks.

A special evening to honor the spirit, achievements, and future of our incredible University community. Learn more and RSVP.

- 35th Annual Chili Cook-Off

Saturday, October 11
One of UHCL's longest-standing traditions. Enjoy the Chili Cook-Off competition, chili tasting and voting, family friendly activities, a DJ, and a Vendor Marketplace.
Time: 12-6 p.m.

Important Information & Deadlines
Registration opens September 1 (via HawkLink)
Final registration and submission deadline: September 24
Banner Competition
Pick up your banner from the Center for Student Engagement (Student Services and Classroom Building, SSCB, 1.204) starting September 1. Completed banners must be returned by September 24. Judging occurs during Homecoming Kickoff.
Office Décor Contest
Offices can begin decorating starting September 1. Submit a photo of your decorated space by September 24. Judging will take place on September 29.
Costume Contest
Dress up for I Heart UHCL Day with your best Y2K-inspired look (individual, group, or office/department). Register at the DJ station during I Heart UHCL Day on Wednesday, October 8.
Spirit Chant Competition
Submit a video of your chant performance by September 24. Finalists will perform live during I Heart UHCL Day on Wednesday, October 8.
