Engage in Rich Experiences at UHCL
Because a well-rounded education means expanding your horizons outside the classroom, you can participate in a variety of artistic and cultural endeavors as a student at University of Houston-Clear Lake. The university regularly hosts artists, musicians, performers and productions, and these performances attract students, faculty, alumni and the surrounding community. UHCL is committed to delivering exciting opportunities that showcase a commitment to the cultural arts.
Under the care of Managing Director Alex Malone, the 500-seat Bayou Theater hosts campus events, theatrical performances, musical concerts, community happenings and more throughout the year.
A showcase for both student and established artists, the UHCL Art Gallery features works of art across a wide range of mediums, while also hosting talks, lectures and discussions about art, poetry, fiction and more.
One of the more popular and regular events on campus, the Film and Speaker Series matches memorable and meaningful movies with discussions led by professors and experts from the greater Houston area. Admission is always free for UHCL students and non-UHCL students can purchase tickets at each screening.
