A Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UHCL provides a solid foundation for entrance
into a number of professions, including business, social services, public relations,
education, nonprofit organizations, human resources and law. Our faculty members specialize
in sociology of the family, immigration, medical sociology, race and ethnic relations,
religion, social inequality, complex organizations and nonprofit organizations, and
conflict resolution. As an undergraduate sociology student, you can acquire needed
insights into the social issues that influence the way people work at all levels in
the community and in the operation of organizations and corporations. To help you
further organize your coursework and career focus, you can opt to choose from the
following concentrations: Criminology, Diversity, Family Sociology, Health and Medicine,
Legal Studies, Urban Studies, Women's Studies, or Work and Occupations.
