The Occupational Safety and Health - Safety (B.S.) program is accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the commission's General Criteria and Program Criteria for Safety and Similarly Named Programs.

 

The undergraduate occupational safety and health degrees are also approved by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management, and taught by skilled faculty who are fully certified in the field of industrial hygiene and safety.

 

The Occupational Safety and Health Program, with specializations in industrial hygiene and/or safety, is recognized as a Qualified Academic Program (QAP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Graduates of a QAP are eligible to apply for the Graduate Safety Practitioner® (GSP®), a BCSP-approved credential necessary to apply for the Certified Safety Professional® (CSP®). It is only available to graduates from degree programs which meet BCSP QAP standards.

 

IHMM's Student Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (ST/CHMM™) credential recognizes students who wish to demonstrate their development of knowledge and skills in hazardous materials management while pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree. Student CHMMs are also eligible for the IHMM Dr. John H. Frick Memorial Scholarship, a $32,000 program to assist our student certificants with the costs of their education.
