College of Business Accreditations

AACSB Accredited The College of Business at the University of Houston-Clear Lake holds both business and separate accounting accreditation with The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. Recognition by AACSB symbolizes the commitment to continuous improvement of educational quality, regional engagement with business partners, and the effectiveness of our societal impact. AACSB holds its member institutions to standards of excellence as interpreted by peer review teams, accreditation committees, and Board of Directors. Fewer than 1 percent of the business schools in the world, and only one other public university in the Houston region, have earned both business and separate accounting accreditation.

 

College of Education Accreditations

The College of Education is accredited by the Texas State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC).

We've earned national recognition for accomplishment and innovation, including the Christa McAuliffe Award for Excellence in Teacher Education.

The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), has granted accreditation to the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (M.S.) program in the Department of Counseling, Special Education, and Diversity, College of Education at University of Houston-Clear Lake.

NAEYC Higher Education Program Early Childhood SealThe National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) has granted accreditation to the Early Childhood BS program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, College of Education at University of Houston-Clear Lake.

 

College of Human Sciences and Humanities Accreditations

The Human Factors Certificate and the Human Factors concentration in the M.S. Psychology program are both accredited by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.

The National Strength and Conditioning Association has recognized the Fitness and Human Performance curriculum as preparing students for successful entrance into the career field.

The School Psychology program is approved by and has received National Recognition from the National Association of School Psychologists.

The PsyD in Health Service Psychology was fully accredited by the American Psychology Association in August 2023. College of Science and Engineering Accreditations

UHCL is one of only 10 U.S. universities with computing programs accredited under three different curriculum guidelines of ABET. The College of Science and Engineering's undergraduate degree programs in Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The undergraduate degree programs in Computer Science and Computer Information Systems are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET. The undergraduate program in Chemistry is accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS). The undergraduate programs in Occupational Safety and Health-Safety and Industrial Hygiene are accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Commission (ANSAC) of ABET.
