QEP Opportunities for Faculty and Staff
As a faculty member, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in various QEP-related activities throughout the next five years, not just during the semester of initial participation and training. As a staff member, you’ll have various opportunities to support the QEP mission as well. There will also be training and development opportunities for faculty and staff so you can be better positioned to help students achieve the overall learning outcome of the QEP.
League of the Rising Hawks and DSA Partnership Opportunities
The League of the Rising Hawks, also referred to as the 4 Categories of Student Engagement, was established by the Division of Student Affairs as a co-curricular transcript for student success, retention, and celebration. This league allows students to choose engaging and culturally educational programs and experiences to help them achieve specific engagement goals.
In spring 2023, the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) will add experiential opportunities and programs that would fall under one of the following categories:
- Community Engagement
- Career and Professional Development
- Social Responsibility and Advocacy
- Scholarship and Academic Achievement
As a UHCL staff or faculty member, you will have the opportunity to serve as a campus partner and work collaboratively with DSA to offer these opportunities and programs.
Center for Faculty Development Opportunities
Campus expertise in professional development is embodied in the Center for Faculty Development, which supports faculty members by providing the resources to improve their teaching, research, and professional skills. The Center’s mission is to promote and sustain a campus culture that values intellectual inquiry, scholarship, and creative engagement, making it a logical place to learn how to design and implement student learning outcome practices to ensure student learning.
