Greetings from Interim President Richard Walker

Dear Hawks:

On this, my first day as interim president of University of Houston-Clear Lake, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve all of you and deeply humbled to write you this letter. Dr. Blake leaves this university in an enviable position, with ongoing achievements and a team of experienced and dedicated leaders who will be my partners in the coming months. I am beholden to the impressive foundation she laid before me and confident of our continued success.

I understand that this recent change can test us and create anxiety. Let me assure you that while leadership has changed, our mission remains the same. We will work together to support our strategic plan, Impact 2025 and Beyond, and stay focused on creating a culture of excellence and opportunity for our students. We will continue moving forward in keeping UH-Clear Lake a distinctive educational destination. 

Over the next couple of weeks, I look forward to working with our world-class faculty and staff, meeting our exceptional students, and partnering with our generous alumni. I ask for your support and for the opportunity to work collaboratively in service to students, faculty and staff, industry, and our community. I am committed to the UH-Clear Lake mission and honored to join you in championing our future successes. Go Hawks!
