Faculty & Staff Headshots
Marketing and Communications offers professional studio headshots to full-time UHCL faculty and staff, twice a semester. Five-minute photo sessions are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis through our online calendar. Additional dates may be added based on need. It's very important to arrive no more than 10 minutes early for your appointment. Late arrivals may be fit in as time allows or asked to reschedule.

Missed Appointments
Due to tight scheduling, we may not be able to accommodate those who miss their appointment time. If we are unable to accommodate you will need to reschedule for a future date.
What to Expect
University staff headshots are intended to be clean, professional portraits for official use. They are designed to be consistent across the University and to reflect an authentic, professional appearance. These are not individually styled or heavily retouched portraits.
Photos are taken at a high resolution, which means natural skin texture, fine hair detail, and other features will be visible.
What We Edit
Each image receives the same light, professional adjustments, including:
- Minor blemish removal related to temporary acne (If you prefer no blemish removal, please let us know before your session.)
- Overall image color correction (This applies to the image as a whole, not individual skin tones.)
What We Do Not Edit
To ensure consistency and timely delivery for everyone, we do not perform individualized cosmetic retouching, including:
- Removing or reshaping hair, including flyaways
- Adjusting clothing or fixing wardrobe issues
- Smoothing or altering skin texture
- Changing or enhancing makeup or facial features
These types of edits are highly time-intensive and offering them would significantly delay turnaround for all participants.
How to Prepare for Your Photo
You are welcome to prepare in whatever way helps you feel confident on camera. For best results:
- Style your hair and manage flyaways as you prefer before your session.
- If you prefer a more even or polished skin appearance, consider applying makeup.
- To reduce shine, light face powder can be helpful.
- Wear something you feel comfortable in that looks professional from the shoulders up.
What to Wear to Your Photo Session
Here are suggestions for a successful shoot:
- Wear medium-to-dark solid colors.
- Please do not wear white or very light-colored clothing.
- Large bold prints and big plaids and stripes are not recommended.
- Small print or plaid is fine.
