William E. Amonette is an associate professor in the Department of Clinical, Health, and Applied Sciences at University of Houston–Clear Lake, and the executive director of the Exercise and Nutritional Health Institute. Also a senior editor for the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, Amonette earned his doctorate in rehabilitation sciences from the University of Texas Medical Branch. While there, his research centered on metabolic and endocrine responses to exercise in patients with traumatic brain injuries. Now his research focuses on the effect of novel exercise and nutritional interventions on rehabilitation and health outcomes in people with chronic disease and disability.
