University of Houston-Clear Lake's College of Education Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program has been granted accreditation by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
Mission Statement
The University of Houston-Clear Lake Counseling Program's Mission is to prepare critically thinking and creative counseling professionals to serve the academic, career, and personal-social needs of culturally diverse individuals and families to improve their quality of life. The program prepares students to be effective leaders in counseling through in-depth knowledge base and strong clinical skills.
Program Objectives
1. Prepare professional counselors who demonstrate academic competence through use of current and relevant curriculum that promotes the standards of the counseling profession
