What is the HomeGrown Teacher Program?
The HomeGrown Teacher Program is a collaboration of Galena Park I.S.D., San Jacinto College North and the University of Houston-Clear Lake. HomeGrown Teacher Program students take course work at San Jacinto College North and transfer to UHCL to take junior and senior level courses. While students attend college at both campuses, Galena Park I.S.D. will provide HomeGrown Teacher Program students with opportunities for employment and experiential learning. Internships and field experiences will be available in the Galena Park area for students. Galena Park I.S.D. is always looking for qualified, dedicated teachers, and your involvement in this program can be the first step in becoming a teacher in the Galena Park area.
