Visit the Office of Academic Advising for the College of Education at University of Houston-Clear Lake for help in exploring your options and achieving your academic, career and personal goals through the use of the full range of university and community resources. Our advisers will help all undergraduates and post-degree students seeking teacher education degrees and certificates stay on course through tailored, one-on-one guidance and direction. Be assured your adviser is a specialist—a trained professional who will deliver accurate, respectful, friendly and professional service. We are happy to analyze your transcripts and help you prepare your degree and certification plans. The office also counsels prospective graduate students regarding various College of Education programs and assigns them their faculty advisers.
The Office of Academic Advising also oversees various special programs in the College of Education. These programs include the GATER2 program, the BAER2 program, the HomeGrown Teacher Program, and Pathway to Teaching program.
We want to provide you the necessary tools to succeed at UHCL.
If you are an undergraduate with under 60 credit hours, you should contact your academic adviser in the University Academic Advising Center. Once you have over 60 credit hours, you can then select your degree plan, and you will be assigned an adviser in the college.
If you are an incoming undergraduate transfer students entering your first semester at UHCL, you should contact Transfer Advising. You will be assigned an adviser who will help you adjust to life at UHCL, including the calculation of the number of credit hours you have transferred to UHCL, as this determines the next steps you should take.
We will assist you through the entire admissions process, because we want you here at UHCL! We'll also address any immigration matters you might experience at UHCL - whether you're a student or alumnus.
