Recruiting On-Campus

Attend a Job Fair

Job fairs are an effective way to recruit a large pool of applicants at one time and get the word about opportunities with your organization out on campus. Throughout the fall and spring semesters, Career Services offers multiple job fairs and networking events to assist you in your recruiting efforts.

In order to register to attend a fair, you must have an active profile in Jobs4Hawks, our online database.

Payment Policy

Job fair registration fees must be paid by the end of the semester in which the fair takes place in order for your organization to remain in good standing and continue to use our employer services.

For further information, please contact employerservices@uhcl.edu.

On-Campus Recruiting

Conducting interviews on campus is a great way to access students and alumni on their home turf. On-campus interviews are scheduled throughout the year and interviews can be tailored to fit your needs.

Here’s how it works

  • Create an on-campus recruiting schedule in Jobs4Hawks, our online database.
  • Submit a request for on-campus interviewing by selecting New Schedule Request from the On Campus Recruiting dropdown menu.
  • Set your application criteria and Jobs4Hawks creates a timeline for students and alumni to apply.
  • When the application deadline has passed, you are notified to select your interview candidates.
  • Candidates are automatically alerted that you’ve selected them for an interview. They are prompted to log in to Jobs4Hawks to select an interview time.
  • Come to campus and interview Hawks in one of our private interview rooms!
  • If you wish to create your own interview schedule outside of Jobs4Hawks, provide Career Services the list of candidates with scheduled interview appointments two weeks prior to your arrival in Career Services.

Interview Cancellation Policy

If it is necessary for you to cancel an interview date, please do so prior to the resume submission deadline posted on your schedule. If you cancel your visit and students have already dropped resumes or scheduled interviews, it is your responsibility to notify them of the cancellation.

Early cancellations are appreciated. Keep in mind, last minute cancellations and no-shows negatively affect your campus image with students who expect to interview with your organization.

To cancel a visit, call 281-283-2590 during regular business hours or leave a message by voicemail.

Post a Job or Internship

Get started by registering for Jobs4Hawks today. Posting a job in Jobs4Hawks is one of the easiest ways to spread the word about opportunities at your organization. Follow the simple steps on the Jobs4Hawks registration page to post a job.

Policy Note: Our office reviews and activates approved jobs within three business days of being submitted.

All advertising fliers and posters must be approved by Career Services and the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership prior to being posted on bulletin boards around campus.

Request an Information Session

An information session is a great way to target highly motivated candidates and spread the word about opportunities with your organization. Information sessions are one hour presentations given by businesses to interested students and are scheduled during the fall and spring semesters on campus.

Our office creates advertising fliers and posts them around campus as well as sending email notifications to qualified students advertising your information session.

Please schedule your information session at least three weeks prior to your requested date, as space is limited.

To schedule an information session provide your requested date, start/end time and audio/visual needs to employerservices@uhcl.edu.

Request an Information Table on Campus

You can request an information table in the Atrium in the Bayou Building. Career Services works with Facilities to coordinate your reservation request. It is recommended that you provide us with alternative dates and times when making a reservation.

Submit your request via email to employerservices@uhcl.edu and allow two weeks (10 business days) to process your request.

To schedule a table send your requested date, start/end time, and audio/visual needs to employerservices@uhcl.edu.

Resume Referrals

Have a position you need filled? Let us fulfill a resume referral request for you! With a resume referral, you pick the criteria, we run the report and send you the resulting student and alumni resumes that match. It’s really that easy.

To request a resume referral, please contact employerservices@uhcl.edu
