Attention Writing Center Clients!

For the remaining two weeks of the semester, we can offer only two appointments per week due to the heavy volume of of students who wish to work on final papers.

Please note that these include both face-to-face and on-line submissions (COLT).

(The last day we will accept COLT submissions is Tuesday, December 9. We will accept them until 5:00 p.m.)

We are open regular hours until Friday, December 12.

 The Writing Center is an instructional facility designed to provide all university writers with peer tutors to help with their writing projects at any stage of the process, from idea generation and organization to style, grammar, and editing strategies. Our primary function is to teach writing. We welcome all members of the UHCL community: students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

      We will work with any type of writing task; however, we do not provide editing or proofreading service. Writers must bring their own papers to their conferences and are responsible for the quality of their final products.

      We recommend that writers schedule appointments with us in advance, but walk-ins are also accepted if a tutor is available. Appointments start on the hour and last 45 minutes. Online tutoring is also available in the forms of email, phone chat, and instant message chat.
